WVSP Investigate Boone County Schools In Connection To Embezzlement Case
West Virginia State Police are investigating Boone County Schools in connection with an embezzlement case.
Troopers report several thousands of dollars went missing.
Troopers served a search warrant for financial records Wednesday at the bus garage in Foster. Police say they spent most of the night combing through the records.
The news of the pending case follows drastic cuts in the Boone County school system.
About 70 positions were cut and three schools were closed last year due to budgetary issues. A similar amount of cuts are expected to take place this year.
No arrests have been made at this time.
