Chapmanville Wallops Wayne To End Regular Season
In high school basketball action, the Chapmanville Tigers finished the regular season at 18-4 and as Cardinal Conference champions, as they defeated the Wayne Pioneers 80-47 Thursday night at Chapmanville Regional High School.
The Tigers trailed late in the first quarter 9-7, and then used a 42-9 run to close out the first half, and end any competitive nature that existed in this contest.
Chapmanville forced 25 Pioneer turnovers to create easy baskets, and drained 9 three pointers in the contest.
The Tigers were led by junior Drew Williamson, who closed the game with 30 points in just 3 quarters of play, followed by sophomore Devin Collins who poured in 14 points in the win.
The Tigers will now take the next 11 days off, as they await their sectional semifinal opponents once seeding takes place next week.
