Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. at the Coalfield Jamboree
On Friday, February 3, 2012 Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. returned to where it all began and played to a sold out house at the Coalfield Jamboree in downtown Logan. The Daddy Rabbit Band warmed the audience up with a few of their signature cover songs and then Landau took the stage with the Sweet Lips Orchestra comprised of talented musicians from the tri-state area. Landau was joined on stage by Misty Daniels from Pikeville, KY for "Baby It's Cold Outside" and then his wife Jennifer joined him on stage for a duet of Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable". Landau then featured Logan High Band Director and Sweet Lips Orchestra member Marty Ojeda, on saxophone, for "Mustang Sally". The evening was capped off by a rousing rendition of The Temptation's "Ain't too Proud to Beg" which brought the audience to their feet. Landau closed the show with his America's Got Talent winning performance of Frank Sinatra's "My Way".
