American Legion Post 19 Easter Egg Hunt
On Saturday, April 7, 2012 the American Legion Post 19 held their 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Middelburg Island. Area children were treated to a visit with the Easter Bunny, balloons, a drawing for prizes from Easter baskets to bicycles, and, of course, the Easter Egg Hunt with over 5,000 eggs distributed on the lawn of Logan High School. Many eggs contained additional prizes. Registration closed at 1:00pm and after everyone was gathered inside Logan Memorial Fieldhouse, age groups were brought out, one by one, to hunt for eggs. After the Easter Egg Hunt, everyone returned inside for the prize drawings and many kids left with giant Easter baskets or a new toy. Fun was had by everyone involved, including the hundreds of volunteers that make this event happen each year. The American Legion Post 19 began working on this event right after Christmas and are thankful for the help of the volunteers and local businesses that assist with donations of toys, funding, and their time.
