Cory "Bird" Price Memorial Car Show & Motorcycle Ride
On Saturday, July 28, 2012 the Inaugural Cory "Bird" Price Memorial Car Show and Motorcycle Ride was held in Chapmanville. Cory was a firefighter with the Chapmanville and Logan Fire Departments, an Emergency Medical Service technician, and a member of Task Force 1. He was a beloved member of the communities he served. Cory was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident last year. The memorial car show and motorcycle ride were set up to raise money for a high school scholarship fund that has been set up in his honor. Over 50 cars were entered into the car show. A tribute motorcycle ride took place leaving from Chapmanville City Hall and stopped by the Chapmanville Fire Department, Logan Fire Department, LEASA, Chief Logan State Park, and, finally, passing by the place where Cory's accident took place where the riders dropped roses and firemen stood and saluted the riders and Cory's tribute marker.
