June 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012
The purpose of this EEO Public File Report is to comply with Section 73 2080©(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised to the following stations:
Radio Station WVOW AM/FM
Logan, WV 25601
And is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these stations, and posted on their websites, if they have websites.
The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning
June 1, 2011 to and including May 31, 2012 (the “Applicable Period”).
The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:
- A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period.
- For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73 2080©(1)(ii) of the new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number.
- The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period.
- Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies, and
- A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73 2080©(2) of the FCC rules.
Appendices 1, 2 and 3 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the required information. Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix 2 under the column entitled “Full-time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized” refer to the number of the full-time job positions listed on Appendix 1.

Section 3: Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken by Radio Station WVOW AM/FM.
On January 9, 2012, Station Manager, Larry Bevins, was the guest speaker at Logan High School, speaking to two (2) separate classes concerning careers in broadcasting.
On March 31, 2012, Operations Manager, Dave Allen, attended a seminar sponsored by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association and presented by Jackson, Kelly, PLLC on the requirement of the Federal Communications Commission’s Equal Employment Opportunities regulations. This seminar was focused on training management level personnel in the methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination.
On Tuesday, May 1, 2012 WVOW AM/FM sponsored a Job Fair on the Logan Campus of Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College. Representatives from local companies were present to showcase employment opportunities. Represented were various groups – retail, banking, mining, Emergency Services, state government, food services, tourism and education.
WVOW AM/FM aired 107 30 second commercials from April 16, 2012 thru April 30, 2012 promoting the Job Fair, posted the event on our website (wvowradio.com) and our Facebook page, and broadcasted live from the event on May 1, 2012.
