24 Deaths & 498 New COVID Cases Reported In W.Va. Monday



The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 498additional infections of COVID-19 Monday.


The DHHR reported 24 deaths this morning attributed to coronavirus. The Mountain State’s death toll now stands at 4,450 fatalities.


A total 575Mountain State residents are hospitalized for the virus statewide. There are 181patients in intensive care units and 115 of those patients require ventilators.

W.Va. Has 6,940active cases of COVID-19.


The latest county alert map released this morning by the state DHHR has nine counties in the red zone including Boone andLincoln counties.

The map measures the severity of community spread within each county. Red indicates the most severe spread of coronavirus in the state, followed by orange, gold, yellow and green.

Twenty-five counties are orange including Mingo, Wayne and Wyoming counties.

Nine counties are gold including Logan and McDowell.

Six counties are yellow and six counties are green.
