
The color-coded County Alert Map for Monday, December thirteenth has 26 orange counties, according the West Virginia Department of Health and Human resources.
Logan and Mingo counties are orange on the map, Orange is the second most severe color designation.
The most severe color coding is red and 17 counties make up the red zone including Boone, Lincoln and Wayne.
Wyoming and five other counties are gold.
Four counties are yellow and two counties are green.
The state DHHR also reports active cases have fallen below 9,000. Statewide, W.Va. Has 8,428 active cases and a total 772 new cases were reported monday morning.
Twenty-two new deaths were reported and raises the state’s death toll to 5,107 fatalities.
Hospitalizations are currently up with 633 patients. Currently, 201 of the patients are receiving ICU treatment and 123 patients are currently requiring a ventilator to breathe.
