As of 10 o’clock Friday morning, West Virginia has 17,716 active cases of coronavirus.

Since the onset of the outbreak, 799 West Virginians have succumbed to the COVID-19. Ten people have died in the last 24 hours.

West Virginia has 52,172 cumulative cases of the virus.

Today’s daily positive infection rate is 3.76%.

According to the state DHHR color-coded map released this morning, Wyoming and Wayne counties are in the restrictive red category. There are 13 total counties in red

Boone County is orange.

Logan, Lincoln and McDowell counties are yellow.

Mingo County is gold.
