The Logan County Health Department reported eleven new cases of COVID-19 Friday and the biggest on week surge of cases in months.

Between July thirtieth and August sixth, the health department confirmed 50 new infections of the virus. New cases outpaced recoveries last week as only eighteen individuals were cleared for recovery. Active cases in the county haven't been higher since May.

Logan has 59 active cases, 3,299 total recoveries and 93 fatalities. Since the onset of the outbreak, Logan has recorded 3,451 cumulative cases of the virus.

Four people are hospitalized.
