Active Cases Drop In W.Va.


COVID-19 cases continue to decline Tuesday with 17,435 active cases reported by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.


Active cases have dropped by twelve thousand since Friday when the highest peak of active cases was reported at 29,744. Fourteen thousand cases were designated recovered over the weekend.


The state DHHR reported 1,337 new cases today. Moreover, an additional seventeen deaths have been confirmed. Since the beginning of the outbreak, 3,441 West Virginians have succumbed to coronavirus.


Hospitalization reported Tuesday include 278 intensive care patients and 160 of those patients require ventilators. In total, 954 people are hospitalized across the Mountain State.
