Christian erupts for 32 points in Lady Tigers 92-point performance in Class AAA Region IV tournament


CHAPMANVILLE   Brooke Christian had a season-high 32 points on 12 field goals including six 3-pointers to lead Chapmanville to a 92-56 win over Lincoln County Friday night in the Class AAA Region IV girls basketball tournament at the Danny Godby Gymnasium.


Daizi Farley had 14 points including three 3-pointers for Chapmanville (8-12). Megan Brown and Savannah Kirk each added 11 points while Lakin Parks had nine and Haley Fleming eight as Chapmanville scored a season-high 92 points and made 17 3-pointers.


Aryen Cooper had 17 points; Chavelle Salmons had 15 points and Rian Johnson added eight points for Lincoln County (4-19).


Chapmanville advances to the Region IV co-finals Thursday night against No.1 seeded, top-ranked and reigning Class AAA champion Nitro. The Lady Wildcats have won two of the last four Class AAA championships and finished the regular season with an 18-4 record. Nitro defeated Chapmanville, 48-35, in the two schools only meeting on January 14 at Nitro.


Chapmanville led by six after one quarter but outscored Lincoln County 31-13 in the second quarter and led 51-27 at halftime.


Eight of the nine players that saw action for Chapmanville scored at least three points and seven of the nine made at least one 3-pointer.
