BUFFALO Morgan Cooper hit two home runs, including a grand slam, as Class A No. 9 Man beat Buffalo 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at Buffalo High School.

Cooper, who no-hit Sherman in her last outing Wednesday evening, retired the first six batters before issuing a leadoff walk to Whitney Good to start the third inning. She retired the next 10 batters in order before McKinly Null broke up Cooper’s bid for back-to-back no-hitters with a one out single in the sixth inning.
Rachel Affolter singled to lead off the seventh inning for Buffalo’s only other hit of the afternoon.
Cooper had three hits at the plate for Man and gave the Lady Hillbillies a 1-0 lead in the first inning with her solo home run over the center field fence.
The score remained 1-0 after six innings, but Man broke it open with four runs in the seventh inning. Trista Marcum led off with a single to get things going for the Lady Hillbillies. Following a strikeout, Kylie Blevins singled and McKinlee Cline legged out a sacrifice bunt for a single to load the bases for Cooper.
Cooper hit her second home run of the afternoon, a grand slam over the left field fence, to give the Lady Hillbillies a 5-0 lead.
Buffalo falls to 7-8 and has lost four of its last five games. The Lady Bison will be back in action Monday evening at home against Class A No. 1 Wahama.
