COVID-19 Cases Maintain Low Numbers Across The State


COVID-19 cases in Logan County remain low following a week of only five new cases discovered through laboratory testing. Cases are down across the state as active cases remain below one thousand.


West Virginia currently has 971 active cases including 60 additional cases reported Tuesday morning.


Cases of the Delta variant in the Mountain State stand at 17 cases.


Governor Jim Justice announced the vaccination percentages of state residents by age groupings during his conference on COVID response. Around 88.7% of 65 years of age and older have received their initial shot of vaccine. Fifty years and above first shot stand at 81.4%. Overall, 66.8% of West Virginians twelve and older have received their first dose.


As of Monday, Logan County has 12 active cases of the virus. Recoveries now stand at 3,258 and fatalities remain at 91 individuals for the county. Since the onset of the outbreak, Logan has recorded a cumulative total of 3,361 cases of COVID-19.
