
YUMA A fatal house fire reported at Yuma in Logan County Tuesday morning.
According to the firefighters, crews were dispatched to a single story home at 228 Yuma Camp Road at 6:28 a.m. The home was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews were on scene.
According to City of Logan Fire Chief Scott Beckett, they were alerted to the possibility of someone inside the home when dispatched.
“Well involved fire with possible entrapment,” Chief Beckett said. “Our guys made a search, made entry and made a fire attack. We had two close exposures. We were able to stop the fire spread, locate the victim and start CPR.”
Attempts to revive the woman were unsuccessful.
No other injuries reported.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. City of Logan Fire Department, the West Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office and the West Virginia State Police are investigating.
