In high school basketball action, the Logan Wildcats improved to 3-3 and dropped Chapmanville to 1-3 on the season, as they knocked off their county rivals 68-42 last night at Willie Akers Arena..
The Wildcats led wire to wire, and used a 17-0 run to open up a 27-5 lead in the 2nd quarter with their full-court pressure defense. Logan never looked back and sank six pointers for the game and kept the pressure on throughout the contest. The Tigers never got within 16 points the rest of the game.
Logan was led by junior Jarron Glick who closed the game with a game-high 22 points for the Wildcats.
Chapmanville was led by sophomore Isaiah Smith with 11 points for the Tigers.
Both clubs get back into action tonight as Logan will travel to Wayne to take on the Pioneers at 7 p.m. The Tigers host their sectional rival the Mingo Central Miners at 7:30 p.m.
WVOW will have coverage of Chapmanville vs. Mingo Central starting at 7:15 p.m. from Danny Godby Gymnasium.
