LOGAN Scotty Browning scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures for second-seeded and co-No. 5 Logan Tuesday night in a 67-46 win over third-seeded Wayne in the Class AA Region 4 Section 2 tournament at the Willie Akers Arena.
Jarron Glick had 12 points for the Wildcats (13-9), who will face top-seeded and No. 7 Scott for the sectional championship.
Julius Clancy scored 11 points and McCormick Ilderton finished with 10 points for Logan.
Logan opened the game with an 8-0 run in the first quarter before Wayne closed the quarter on a 6-3 run and trailed the Wildcats 11-6 after one quarter of play.
The Wildcats put together a 17-5 run in the second quarter and led by as many as 17 points before Glick’s basket with one second remaining gave them a 31-15 halftime lead.
Wayne closed the gap to 14 points in the third quarter on multiple occasions but trailed Logan by 15 points, 44-29, after three quarters.
Wayne trailed 59-46 following Dillon May’s basket with 1:37 to play in the fourth, but Logan finished the game on an 8-0 run with all eight points coming from the free throw line.
Isaac Meddings led Wayne (6-16) with 14 points. May had 11 points and Zane Adkins six.
