CHARLESTON Governor Jim Justice issued a State of Preparedness declaration order Thursday evening.
The State of Preparedness order is for all 55 counties in the Mountain State. The declaration is in response to the forecast winter storms for the upcoming weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will bring accumulating snow beginning Friday and lasting through the weekend.
The State of Preparedness allows the West Virginia Emergency Management Division to posture personnel and resources for quick response to any emergency that may develop. Coordinating agencies have been placed on standby to report to the state emergency operations center should the need arise, according to a statement from the Governor’s office.
