Governor Justice issues burn ban in West Virginia


CHARLESTON Smoke in the air again today around the Logan area. A forest fire on the hillside at Wilkinson responsible for new smoke in the area.


A burst of brush fires and forest fires has prompted Governor Jim Justice to issue a burn ban for the State of West Virginia.


The ban is in effect as of Monday and according to the governor’s office, the ban is due to dry conditions and low water levels. The burn ban is in effect until the governor issues an order to rescind it.


Outdoor burning such as campfires, burning brush and warming fires are prohibited while the ban is in effect.
