SETH The Lady Hillbillies couldn't overcome a slow first start and was held to nine first half points in a 51-27 loss to Sherman in the Class A Region IV tournament at Sherman High School Tuesday night.
Eighth-seeded Sherman improved to 12-8 and will travel to top-seeded and Class A No. 1 Gilmer County (18-4) Friday night.
Melanie Estepp led Sherman with a game-high 19 points and Summer Harvey had 13 for the Lady Tide, who overcame a slow first quarter scoring just six points, to outscore Man 16-6 in the second quarter and take 22-9 lead at halftime.
Emilee Deel led Man with eight points, Zoey Martin had five and Megan McCoy four for the Lady Hillbillies, who finish the season with a 7-14 record.
