LOGAN Haley Fleming scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning on a throwing error by the catcher following a dropped third and Chapmanville (4-1) handed Logan (4-1) its first loss of the season 2-1 at Bea Orr Field on Tuesday afternoon.
With one out in the seventh, Mady Farley drew a walk and was replaced by Farley. The next batter, Megan Brown, struck out on three pitches with first base occupied for the second out, however, Brown hustled out of the box forcing the catcher to air mail the first basemen allowing Farley, who never stopped running on the play, to score from first base with the go ahead run.
In the bottom of the seventh, Emilee Mullins singled off the right center field fence, but Chloe Murphy struck out Addison Starr looking to end the game.
Murphy gave up three hits, struck out 17 and hit one in a complete game performance in the circle for the Lady Tigers.
Charlie Albright allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit with three walks and five strikeouts in seven innings for the Lady Wildcats.
Both teams were hitless through three innings until Logan's Ashlin Brumfield hit a solo home run over the left center field fence with two out in the bottom of the fourth to give the Lady Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
Albright held the Lady Tigers hitless for 5 2/3 innings until Murphy evened the score at 1-1 with two out solo home run over the center field fence in the sixth inning.
Lauren Adkins tripled in the sixth for Logan's only other hit.
