LOGAN Five Lady Wildcat seniors combined to score 49 points and Logan drained 10 3-pointers Monday night in a 64-41 win over Lincoln County at the Willie Akers Arena.
Seniors Addyson Amick and Payton Butcher both finished with double digit scoring nights. Amick led the way with a game-high 19 points including five 3-pointers and Butcher added 12 points.
Halle Crouse finished with nine points, Bam Mosby seven and Camryn Harvey had two to round out the senior scoring for the Class AA seventh-ranked Lady Wildcats.
Logan trailed 7-5 early in the first quarter but closed the quarter on a 12-0 run to take a 17-7 lead after one quarter.
Jaycee Blair and Amick each knocked down a 3 in the opening minute of the second quarter to extend the run to 18-0 and the lead to 23-7 with 6:56 remaining before halftime.
Blair, who knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 13 points, was instrumental in the Lady Wildcats ability to put the game out of reach before halftime.
Three of Blair's 3-pointers came during a nine-minute stretch in the first half, and just like the start of the second quarter, Amick and Blair knocked down back-to-back 3's in the final minute plus of the first half to put the finishing touches on 13-0 run to put Logan ahead 42-13 at halftime.
The lead continued to grow throughout the second half. Logan's biggest lead of the contest came during the third quarter when Mosby scored in the paint to put Logan ahead 51-15 with 5:56 to play in the quarter.
The Lady Wildcats led 55-27 after three quarters before Lincoln County outscored Logan 14-9 in the final quarter to set the final margin.
Arien Cooper and Abby Roy led Lincoln County with nine points each. The Lady Panthers, now 2-12 overall, return to action Thursday evening at Tolsia.
Logan improved to 9-5 overall and forced Lincoln County into 35 turnovers. The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to host Roane County Tuesday night before closing the week at regional rival Scott on Saturday afternoon.
