LOGAN Two days after dropping its second game of the season, Class AAA No. 2 Logan evened its season record at 2-2 with a 42-27 victory over River View Monday night at Willie Akers Arena.
The Lady Wildcats were coming off a 16-point road loss at AAA co-No. 3 Robert C. Byrd Saturday.
Things don't get easier for coach Kevin Gertz and his Logan squad as they travel to Class AA No. 1 Wyoming East Wednesday evening.
Logan 42, River View 27: Leading by six at halftime, Logan outscored River View, 17-9, in the third quarter to pull away from the Lady Raiders.
Natalie Blankenship led Logan (2-2) with a game-high 16 points. Halle Crouse and Bam Mosby each had eight points and Autumn Adkins finished with seven points for the Lady Wildcats.
Abigail Pruitt led the Lady Riders (0-2) with 10 points and Haylie Payne finished with eight points.

Robert C. Byrd 55, Logan 39: The third-ranked Lady Eagles outscored the second-ranked Lady Wildcats, 18-5, in the second quarter to break a first quarter tie on its way to a 55-39 victory Saturday afternoon at Robert C. Byrd High School.
Avery Childers led Robert C. Byrd (1-1) with a game-high 20 points. Carleigh Curotz finished with 11 points and Martina Howe eight for the Lady Eagles.
Autumn Adkins led Logan (1-2) with 15 points. Adkins was responsible for five of the Lady Wildcats seven 3-pointers. Payton Butcher had eight points and Natalie Blankenship seven for Logan.
