HAMLIN Meghan Stump tossed a three-hit shutout as Lincoln County defeated Logan 5-0 Tuesday evening at Lincoln County High School.
Stump struck out five and walked one in seven innings and Haleigh Adkins had two hits including a solo home run and drove in two runs for Lincoln County.
Charlie Albright pitched well for Logan in the circle but suffered the loss after allowing five runs-two earned- on six hits while striking out seven and walking three in six innings of work.
Adkins solo home run in the first inning gave Lincoln County a 1-0 lead after one.
The Lady Panthers tacked on a run in the third when Becca Pennington was hit by the pitch to score Kellen Ramey for a 2-0 lead after three.
Kenzie Shaffer scored on Adkins’ sacrifice fly to give Lincoln County a 3-0 lead after four innings.
Maci Lunsford scored on an error in the sixth to make it 4-0 and Gracie Clay scored on Ramey’s double to extend their lead to 5-0 after six innings.
Stump didn’t allow a hit until Emma Mullins singled in the fifth inning for Logan’s first hit of the contest.
Mullins had two hits and Chloe Bryant one hit for Logan.
