Lady Wildcats win sixth straight, defeat Westside 65-39

LOGAN   With postseason play just around the corner, the Logan Lady Wildcats continue their hot start to the second half of the season.


Tied at 14 after one quarter, the seventh-ranked Lady Wildcats outscored Westside 20-4 in the second quarter on their way to a 65-39 victory.


Addyson Amick had 25 points and Halle Crouse added 20 points to lead Logan in scoring. Bam Mosby finished with 10 points to give Logan a trio of double-digit scorers.


Playing without starter Payton Butcher and reserve Jayden Meade, the shorthanded Lady Wildcats outscored the Lady Renegades 51-25 after the first quarter for their fifth straight win to improve to 13-5.


Logan has won seven of its last eight and five of its last six to start the second half of the season.


Sarah Lilly and Sidney Lusk each had 10 points to lead Westside (6-12) and Kaylin Matney finished with nine points.


Westside returns to action Monday afternoon when they host Liberty (Raleigh).


Logan will take part in the Snyder of Berlin Utz Snacks Shootout at the West Virginia State Walker Convocation Center. The Lady Wildcats will take on Class AA No. 8 Doddridge County at 4:00 p.m.
