MAN Cam Blevins and Will Shepherd combined for six of Lincoln County's 11 3-pointers as the Panthers defeated Man 67-30 Saturday night at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.
Blevins hit three 3's in the first quarter and scored 15 of his game-high 17 points in the opening eight minutes. Shepherd came off the bench to hit three 3's finishing with 11 points while Sawyer Tomblin made two 3's to finish with 14 points and Austin Adkins connected on a pair of treys and scored 10 points off the bench for Lincoln County.
Blevins put Lincoln County up 18-3 with 3:42 remaining in the opening quarter with his third made shot from beyond the arc, but Man put together a 10-0 run on the strength of two 3-pointers from Caleb Vance and closed to within five, 18-13, on Trey Ward's basket with 0:25 to play in the opening quarter.
Shepherd hit a 3 with 0:10 remaining to give Lincoln County an eight-point advantage, 21-13, after one quarter of play. The Panthers scored the first nine points of the second quarter and led 30-13 on Adkins 3-pointer with 3:52 to play before halftime.
Man's Chris Isaacs ended the run with a driving layup to cut the deficit to 30-15 with 3:22 remaining. Man never got any closer than 15 points as Lincoln County went on a 6-0 run and led 36-15 with 1:08 left on a 3 from Shepherd.
Man, who struggled to make shots in the first half, had plenty of chances to close the gap in the first half, but the Hillbillies missed eight consecutive free throws before Ward made two with 0:18 remaining in the half.
Vance had nine points, including three 3's of his own, while Colton Miller finished with seven points and Cam Gerace, Kaleb Mullins and Isaacs had four points each for Man.
The Hillbillies made just 11 field goals and four 3-pointers while the Panthers made 23 field goals. Man was 4 of 11 from the foul line while Lincoln County connected on 10 of 16 attempts from the charity stripe.
Man (1-10) will look to snap a 10-game losing streak Saturday afternoon at Pocahontas County. The Warriors are 1-12 following last Thursday's 96-53 loss to East Hardy.
