The Logan County Health Department confirmed 16 new cases of COVID-19 Monday.
As of 2 o’clock this afternoon, 16 new cases of the virus have been confirmed through laboratory testing.
Health Department Director Steve Browning said six tests returned positive following a testing event in Logan Thursday. A total 137 samples were taken during the testing. Only five of the positives were Logan residents. The other test was a Kanawha resident.
Another round of free testing will happen this Wednesday in Logan County. Tests will be administered at the former 84 Lumber location at Peach Creek between 10am and 3pm.
Attendees should bring ID and those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Logan County has 92 active cases of the virus, 465 recoveries, and 39 fatalities for a cumulative total of 596 cases of coronavirus.
Twenty-seven people are hospitalized.
