Logan opens season with 36-point win at Sissonville

SISSONVILLE Scotty Browning scored 22 points as Class AAA No. 3 Logan opened the season with an 87-51 victory over Sissonville Tuesday night.


Browning knocked down 4 of 8 3-point attempts and converted on 9 of 17 field goal tries to lead three Wildcats in double figures.


Garrett Williamson finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Wildcats. Julius Clancy shot 4 of 7 from the field to finish with 11 points.


Logan shot 57.1 percent from the field in the first half and led 44-18 at halftime.


Overall, Logan knocked down 33 of its 67 attempts and was 9 of 25 from behind the arc.


Tanner Griffith and Jake Wiseman led Sissonville with 11 points.


Sissonville (0-1) returns to action Saturday at Lewis County in the Big 10-Cardinal Conference Challenge. Logan (1-0) will host Herbert Hoover Thursday at Willie Akers Arena.
