In high school basketball action, the Logan Wildcats ended the Man Hillbillies undefeated streak, as they knocked off the number one team in Class A Monday night 68-63 at Willie Akers Arena. This was Logan's fifth straight win to improve to 7-3, and dropped Man to 5-1 on the season.
The Hillbillies led nearly the entire first half by handling Logan's pressure defense and took a 30-23 lead into halftime.
In the second half, foul trouble became the main concern, as both sides combined for over 30 fouls with Logan getting into the double bonus in the third quarter.
Man was still able to build a 40-27 lead in the third quarter, but Logan responded with a 20-3 run to reclaim the lead. Despite both clubs struggling from the foul line, the Wildcats made field goals when they needed them to hold off the billies for the win.
Logan was led by junior Jarron Glick, who led all scorers with 22 points.
Man was led by junior Austin Ball who closed the game with 19 points. Man will get back into action on Friday when they travel to Miner Mountain to take on Mingo Central.
Logan will travel to Lincoln County for a return engagement with the Panthers on Wednesday. Both games are slated to start at 7:30 p.m.
