A magisterial career and 40 years of judicial service comes to an end this week in Logan County.
Magistrate Leonard Codispoti was first elected to Logan Magistrate Court during the General Election of 1980. He was sworn into office January 1, 1981.
Codispoti’s long tenure makes him one of the longest serving magistrates in West Virginia.
The magistrate told WVOW News he feels fortunate to serve the people of Logan County for so long.
“I appreciate them keeping me in office for forty years,” Codispoti said. “To those that voted for me, I love them. To those that didn’t vote for me I love them, too.”
Codispoti chose not to run for a tenth term this year. His final day on the bench is Saturday.
