LOGAN A man was arrested for running down another man with a vehicle in downtown Logan over the weekend.
City of Logan police responded to Cole Street just before eight o’clock the night of Saturday, June seventeenth. Two witnesses told police 55-year-old William Eplin, of Logan, “ran over and stopped on top of” a victim identified as Tracy Frye.
City Patrolman C. Felder located the vehicle and contacted Mr. Eplin. According to the complaint, Eplin admitted to striking the victim with the vehicle after seeing the victim with his girlfriend. Moreover, Patrolman Felder wrote in the criminal complaint that Eplin stated he had been drinking.
Defendant was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center for a blood draw.
On Sunday, Magistrate Dwight Williamson arraigned Eplin on two felony charges of DUI causing serious bodily injury and Malicious Wounding. Bond was set at $100,000 cash only.
Eplin is being held at South Western Regional Jail.
