Man defeats Tolsia in six innings, wins it third straight, 12-2

MAN Brayden Compton threw a three-hitter and Jace Adkins was 4-for-4 with three RBIs as Class A No. 7 Man defeated Tolsia 12-2 in six innings Wednesday night at William Tootie Carter Field.


Compton struck out five, walked one and allowed two unearned runs in six innings as Man won its third consecutive game to improve to 13-8.


Ben Clayton and David Dingess each went 1-for-2 with one RBI and Colton Austin was 1-for-3 for Tolsia.


Rebels starting pitcher Jeremy Vanhoose allowed six runs – two unearned – on seven hits in 1 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out one in a losing effort for Tolsia, who fell to 5-12 with the loss.


Cam Gerace went 3-for-4 with a double, Colton Miller was 2-for-2 with a pair doubles, two RBIs and two runs and Kaden Dickerson went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Hillbillies.


Braxton Messer was 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs, Hunter Gibson went 1-for-3 with a run and Bo Thompson was 0-for-1 with one RBI while John McCoy was 0-for-2 with two runs.


The victory allowed Man to remain unbeaten against Class AA Region 4 Section 1 competition. The Hillbillies finished 7-0 against Sherman, Tolsia and Tug Valley. Man does not play Buffalo and Van this season.
