MAN After a senior season that saw him total nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards, Man High School senior Jordan Adams was named to the Class A all-state second team by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
Adams, a running back/defensive back, was named second-team running back on offense.
Adams led the Hillbillies in rushing yards with 656 yards and rushed for seven touchdowns, which tied for second on the team. He also returned nine kicks for 230 yards and one touchdown and caught five passes for 37 yards.
On defense, Adams registered 45 tackles and returned one interception for 54 yards. In total, Adams accounted for 977 all-purpose yards earning him all-state recognition.
Adams was one of four Hillbillies to earn all-state honors. Quarterback/defensive back Jayden Brumfield, wide receiver/defensive back Chris Isaacs and kicker Jaxon Tipton were named Class A all-state honorable mention.
Brumfield completed 47 of 87 passes for 688 yards and eight touchdowns for the Hillbillies this season. Brumfield also ran for 351 yards and a team-high 11 touchdowns.
The junior quarterback also returned nine kicks for 211 yards and two punts for 56 yards while registering 17 tackles and intercepting two passes on defense.
Isaacs caught a team-high 29 passes and led the Hillbillies with 392 receiving yards and tied for the lead in touchdown receptions with two.
Isaacs also had nine carries for 75 yards, including 60 yards in the Hillbillies regular season finale against Chapmanville, and returned seven kicks for 99 yards and four punts for 50 yards.
On the defensive side, Isaacs was fifth on the team with 54 tackles, two which were for loss and was second on the team with two interceptions.
Tipton handled all kicking duties for the Hillbillies this season. The senior averaged 49.1 yards on 54 kickoffs this season while averaging 32.4 yards on 25 punts. Four of Tipton’s punts were inside the 20.
Tipton made 26 consecutive extra points and was 35 of 39 on point after attempts this season.
Man, one of three Logan County teams to qualify for the playoffs, finished the season with a 7-4 record and 12th in the final Class A ratings.
