Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear confirms one of the men trapped in that collapsed coal prep plant in Martin County has died.
MARTIN COUNTY, KY Rescue crews working late into the night to get to two people trapped after a building collapsed.
According to Martin County Sheriff John Kirk, the building is a ten to eleven stories tall and is an idled coal preparation plant.
The collapse, initially reported around 6:30 p.m. on Halloween, is located in the middlefork of Wolfe Creek.
The extent of injuries is not known, but at least one of the workers has been in contact with rescue workers. Condition of the two people is unknown at this time.
According to statements from Sheriff Kirk, the two workers were salvaging the plant and removing machinery at the time of the collapse.
