Nitro pulls away from Lady Tigers

NITRO   Third-ranked Nitro used a 13-5 second quarter to pull away and defeat Chapmanville 48-35 Tuesday night at Alumni Arena.


The run erased a single-point first quarter deficit turning it into a 23-16 halftime lead. Nitro outscored Chapmanville 25-19 in the second half to put the game away.


Ava Edwards led the Lady Wildcats with 12 points and Natalie Smith finished with 10.


Brooke Christian had 12 points and Haley Fleming 10 to lead Chapmanville in scoring.


Nitro has won seven straight game and improved to 7-1 while Chapmanville lost for the third straight time and fell to 5-5.
