PECKS MILL The Logan County Sheriff's Department is investigating a two-car accident on West Virginia Route 10 that left one person dead, and three others injured Thursday afternoon.
According to a press release from the LCSD, the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling southbound on Old Logan Road just after 3 p.m. when it veered left of the center lane striking a Toyota Tacoma head-on in the northbound lane.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Della Browning, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
A juvenile female passenger in the Chevrolet was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center General Division and was listed in critical condition while a juvenile male passenger was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital and was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The road from Pecks Mills to the US 119 exit was closed to traffic as deputies C.L. Carter and A.B. Daniels as well as first responders from the City of Logan and Henlawson Fire Departments worked to clear the scene.
The road has since reopened to traffic and the crash remains under investigation by Deputy Carter and the LCSD.
