Thousands are without power in Mingo and Wayne Counties after an ice storm moved through the area in the early morning hours.
Power went out in the Lenore area of Mingo County around 2:30 a.m. According to the Appalachian Power outage map, restoration time for that area is estimated around 9 a.m. this morning.
Outages along Caney Branch were reported around 10:30 last night. AEP workers are still assessing that situation.
Outages in Wayne County are still being assessed by AEP. There was no estimated power restoration time as of press time.
