A scheduled road closure for this Sunday has been postponed for a week.
Originally, according to the West Virginia Department of Highways, W.Va. Route 44 at Stirrat was scheduled to close this Sunday. Tipple crews are removing the belt line apparatus that crosses the highway overhead at the Stirrat tipple.
Sunday is Father’s Day and West Virginia Day. The scheduled road closure has been moved to the following Sunday, June 27.
Route 44 will be closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to complete the removal of the structure.
