DANVILLE Ava Sampson hit two home runs to lead Class AA No. 7 Scott to a 3-2 win over Class AAA No. 7 Chapmanville Monday night at Lick Creek Park.
Sampson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first and added a go-ahead two out solo home run in the bottom of the sixth.
Lakin Parks scored on a passed ball and Evy Altizer grounded into a fielder's choice to give Chapmanville a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Sampson evened the score in the bottom of the first inning with her two-run shot over the left field fence.
Cambri Barker picked up the win in the circle for Scott, going seven innings and allowing two runs on two hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
Chloe Murphy allowed three runs on three hits struck out 11 and walked one batter in six innings for the Lady Tigers.
Hailey Capps was 1 for 3 at the plate for Scott (9-2).
Charity Atwood and Brooke Christian each went 1 for 3 at the plate for Chapmanville (4-2) while Altizer had an RBI.
