MADISON Jayden Sharps was one of four Skyhawks to reach double figures as Class AAA No. 5 Scott beat No. 6 Logan 68-59 Friday night at the Hawks Nest.
Sharps finished with 20 points and was 5 of 6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and Owen Adkins and Isaac Setser each had 12 points and Louden White had 10 points off the bench for the Skyhawks, who improved their record to 7-5 overall and 4-2 in the Cardinal Conference.
Logan (7-7, 3-3 Cardinal) played without its two starters, leading scorer Scotty Browning and Julius Clancy, both of whom were out with concussions. The Wildcats were dealt a major blow in the second quarter when senior guard Garrett Williamson went down with a knee injury after scoring his fourth point and did not return.
The Wildcats fell behind by 12 early, 15-3, but closed the gap to two points, 20-18, on Derrick Browning’s 3 in the second quarter.
Browning led Logan with 18 points. Cole Blankenship added 17 points thanks mostly to five 3-pointers and Jarron Glick had 14 points for the Wildcats.
