LENORE An officer involved shooting in Mingo County is under investigation.
The shooting happened Friday evening in the Lenore area. West Virginia State Police said Mingo County Deputies were responding to a report of shots fired. When a deputy arrived on scene, according to police a suspect threatened the deputy with a gun. The deputy shot and hit the suspect.
State police said the suspect, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at Logan Regional Medical Center.
The incident is ongoing with the state police.
