PIKE COUNTY, KY A third person has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in Pike County over the weekend.
Kentucky State Police reported that 25-year-old Michael Shortridge has been charged with murder in the death of 42-year-old Christopher Lester of Steele. Shortridge was taken to the Pike County Detention Center following his arrest.
Troopers responded to a shooting report on Saturday, January 11, at a home on Laurel Fork in the Steele community. Authorities found Lester deceased upon arrival. An investigation revealed that Lester had sustained gunshot wounds, and his body was sent to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Two other suspects, Michael Brown and Anthony Browning, were previously arrested in connection with the case. Both are charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Brown is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail, while Browning was taken to the Southwestern Regional Jail.
