The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported an update on COVID-19 for the first time in four days. The update still demonstrates cases of the virus are continuing to drop statewide.
The DHHR confirmed an additional 245 new cases of the virus since the department’s last report on Thursday, June seventeenth. The state’s active cases total 2,083 people.
Seven deaths were confirmed from coronavirus. Since the onset of the outbreak, 2,083 West Virginians have died from complications brought on by COVID-19.
100 people are hospitalized.
Reporting was delayed due to the observance of state holidays Juneteenth on Friday and West Virginia Day on Monday.
