The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 827 new cases of COVID-19.
As of 10 o’clock Thursday morning, W.Va. currently has 27,245 active cases of coronavirus.
Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,702 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Thirty-one people died in the last 24 hours.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 4.94%.
According to the color-coded map released this morning by the state DHHR, 33 counties are in the restrictive red zone.
Nineteen counties are orange including Logan, Lincoln and Wyoming.
Clay, McDowell and Tucker counties are gold.
W.Va. has administered 106,453 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of press time, 20,004 residents have received both rounds of shots.
