MADISON Scott junior Louden White struck out eight batters, Kedron Elkins hit a two-run home run and Blayne Kuhn drove in three runs to lead Class AA No. 5 Scott to a 7-4 win over rival Chapmanville Tuesday night at Skyhawk Field.

White (2-0) allowed four runs on five hits with two walks, and Elkins and Kuhn each had two hits while Ryan Neal and Ian Prince each had one hit and scored twice for Scott.

Scott (15-4) led 2-0 after Kuhn's two-run double brought home Neal and Prince in the second inning. Elkins hit his first home run of the season in the third to score White and give Scott a 4-0 lead.

David Browning's two-run single in the fourth brought Chapmanville to within two runs, 4-2, but the Skyhawks plated three runs in the fifth with two runs scoring on a pair of Tiger errors and third run crossing the plate on Kuhn's run-scoring single for a 7-2 lead.

Peyton Dingess had two hits for Chapmanville (5-9), who has lost four of its last five games.

Jacob Vance's two-run single in the seventh scored Robert Cook and Eli Pridemore to cut the deficit to 7-4, and Jaxon Topping followed with a single to bring the tying run to the plate against reliever Nate Easterling.

Easterling struck out Dingess for the second out and hit Browning to load the bases before striking out Isaac Walters to end the game.

Easterling earned the save after allowing one hit with two strikeouts and one hit batter in 2/3 innings.

Chapmanville senior right-hander Andrew Topping (2-4) gave up seven runs over six innings on eight hits, four walks and four strikeouts.

Scott hosts Class AAAA No. 2 Hurricane Friday evening while Chapmanville welcomes Buffalo to Ted Ellis Field Wednesday evening.
